I had an e-mail this evening from one of my cousins telling me that my Aunt Dorothy is in hospice care and has been given a month or so to live. If I can possibly arrange it I will go up to Portland, OR., to see her sometime in the next few weeks. I will have to figure out how to make the trip - not sure I am up to the thousand mile drive. I'll keep you advised. Del

ReplyDeleteTake care, Del, and if you drive, drive safely. I'm sorry we won't be in Portland to help, perhaps, bring you some comfort. But Terry and Gerrie are good helpers -- call on them. Maybe you should take the train instead of trying to drive -- it's almost as fast because it goes through the night while you sleep. Get a sleeping cabin and let Amtrak take you there.

In strange ways...after a life of watching Dorothy
sew, quilt and create, I began to sew for the first time.
It strangely seems so natural for me. I have such vivid memories of watchin mom and our grandmother Marie
hand quilting in Portland.
I am sure mom is with us and watching each stitch
