Fifty years and still a doll 03-31-09

For those of you who are, or were, Barbie fans. I was not, but then I was all of 20 fifty years ago and a doll myself!!
The news reported last month that Mattel's Barbie doll turned 50 years old. AARP Magazine couldn't ignore that and did an article about how Barbara Millicent Roberts fits into the AARP demographic:http://tinyurl.com/b7m4brTo shake off a midlife crisis at 50, Barbie gets tattooed:http://tinyurl.com/c6rjs2And, finally, a Brazilian artist did a rendition of what Barbie would really look like at age 50. http://collectingbuzz.com/barb/barbnew.jpg

Good Morning, Have we missed your birthday? If not, may I be the first(?) to wish you a very Happy Birthday sometime in the upcoming months! Oh, by the way, you're still a "doll"! Happy Quilting

Loret - Nope - it was Barbie's B'day - I have a couple decades on her! And I have six months left to this birthday year.
You need to put an e-mail address in your blog profile! It's easy.
Love, Del

I had to laugh at 50 year old Barbie. Reminds me of Barbara Walters, but with less plastic & botox! BW is now like a living skeleton. I can't bear to look at her in case she flies apart.
