Birds in nest box 12-13-21

A friend who is not a bird watcher sent me this after I told her about Western Bluebirds using only boxes with a certain size entrance.  It is an amazing video, but very long - about 50 minutes. These are Japanese Tits which are about the size of the bluebirds or house finches.  There is sound by the narration is text. .

Friday Feet 06-21-19

I had this all set up to post last evening and my computer wouldn't let me in.  Had to visit the Geek Squad again today and the laptop is okay now, but how long will it last?  I have a project going so can't let them have it for testing for three or four days.  Hope it will continue to work correctly until I get my project done.

This was really a surprise.  Cool, huh?

Working on Sue Benner class projects 05-06-19

And I'm going to try posting the KoKo video again at the bottom of the page.

I only need about half of Mary's very long table.  Nice light to work by.

The color is a bit dull in this image.  Do you see some that need moving?
If I use black sashing the blocks with dark borders will disappear.  Same for any of the colors in the borders.

This is the latest on the cut collage project that I missed the cut part.  The weird little grey shapes are leaves and will have black veins to make them more leafy.  More twigs will be added and maybe some other stuff.  Collaging can go on forever.

Here are two different ways of adding video.  Do either of them work?  When I click on the picture the word "RAW" appears.  Does that mean anything to any of you?

Went to Pacific Grove today 05-05-19

It was a lovely day, but Mary wanted to stay home, so I went to Pacific Grove by myself.  Visited Back Porch to take pictures of the exhibit with the room all set up with fabrics, books, quilts, etc., because Gail is going to clear the room on Wednesday afternoon to facilitate the taking down of the quilts on Thursday.   I will take pictures of just the quilts before we start taking them down.

Then I drove to Asilomar to visit the Empty Spools ladies and see what was going on in Katie Pasquini-Masopust's class in Merrill Hall.  Every student had their machine going and was concentrating on their own wonky log cabin project.  Very colorful.

Drove back to Pacific Grove and had lunch at the Red House.  My usual Portobello sandwich with green salad and a latte.  They were out of their special cookies, so no dessert - which I suppose was for the best.

I was going to post some pictures, but tonight I cannot download them at all.  It has worked up until now.  Bummer.

A few days ago KoKo's keeper sent me this video of KoKo trying to kill the squeaker in the new toy she bought him.  I hope it plays for you, I have never posted a video before.

Sunset and a funny lady 01-27-11

I have been wanting to post these two photos.  I took them when I was driving down into the Los Angeles basin on my return from San Juan Bautista on Jan 16th.   Yes, I was driving, but I don't look through or at the camera when I take this sort of picture.  I just roll down the window and hold the camera out toward what I want a shot of.   Then I watch the road and click away.  I take as many pictures as I can, knowing that most of them will be deleted when I get them in the computer.   So, out of maybe twelve images I had these two good ones.  I don't take pictures when I am in heavy traffic or, for that matter, when a car is in the lanes on either side of me.  I'm careful and don't risk any one's life - so stop worrying!

I have seen this video before, but it means more now because I am 72.  Hope you get a laugh.

Corky dressed for Xmas + Miscellaneous 12-06-10

Corky received this festive collar cover from Karen in Omaha. He seems indifferent, but all of his people think it is very handsome. Thanks, Karen, you are very caring.
"Designer Ann" has posted photos she took of quilts in Houston - the winners in both traditional and contemporary categories AND a selection of quilts that spoke to her. Very good images and she gives the title of the quilt and the name of the maker - very considerate. www.designerann.blogspot.com/

Those white bicycles 11-13-10

I have heard references and seen pictures, but I didn't understand what they were all about. But today I ran across this video which explains.
I am preparing to give a program on Tuesday evening and a workshop on Wednesday. I hope I have the energy! I made this commitment last Spring, long before I contracted bronchitis. So, I need to 'gird my loins' and do it! My friend Liz will be going with me to help. Bless her, she is a wonderful friend. The program is for South Bay Quilters Guild in Redondo Beach. I'll have about thirty quilts from the TCQC and will share their "stories".
