Terry Grant Quilt from TCQC 08-20-17

This is one of the few pieces in TCQC that is, in a sense, framed.  It is mounted on a heavy nubby weave beige fabric on stretcher bars.  There is heavy card over the hole formed by the stretcher bars.  The quilt itself is not bound, so the batting shows as a white edge.

There are about a dozen pieces of Terry's work in TCQC.  I do admire what she creates.  This piece hangs in my master bath so that I can enjoy it every day.

"Yellow Bowl"  Terry Grant - Beaverton, OR  2014  10" x 10"
Recycled cotton fabrics, fusible, cotton thread, cotton batting.
  Machine appliqued and quilted.

Terry has used her distinctive black "sketching" to machine outline the bowl

This shows some of the shirting fabrics that Terry dyes and uses in her quilts.  Some of them come from the Talbot outlet in Carmel Valley, CA.  Others are from resale shops in the form of shirts and blouses.

Lovely little quilt...love the hand work on the bowl. The combination of the machine quilting stitches and the textures of the fabrics is very quite exciting and I thing innovative.
