Holly Knott quilt from TCQC 01-25-09

"Birch Grove 2" Holly Knott 2004 24.5"W x 42"L
Hand-painted fabric (trees - acrylic), commercial batiks, raw edge machine applique and free- motion quilting.
I like the cold, winter feeling of this quilt - chilly background, no leaves. I bought it from Holly after she sent me a few pictures of a gallery show she was doing.
Holly is an accomplished painter, photographer and quilt maker. She wrote a very helpful article about photographing one's own quilts (which you can read on her website) and she builds websites for clients. She and her mother Diane, who is a watercolor artist, wrote a book together. "Quilted Garden Delights" was published in 2008 by C&T. See more of her work at: http://www.hollyknott.com/

It's a lovely piece! Holly designed my website, too. She is a very talented person.
