Birds in nest box 12-13-21

A friend who is not a bird watcher sent me this after I told her about Western Bluebirds using only boxes with a certain size entrance.  It is an amazing video, but very long - about 50 minutes. These are Japanese Tits which are about the size of the bluebirds or house finches.  There is sound by the narration is text. .

eastern bluebirds are very fussy also, a certain size house, certain size entrance hole facing the east and spaced so many feet apart, then you have to check to see that the houses are not occupied by other birds. People made a concentrated effort to bring the bluebirds back to northern Ohio in the 80s. We had a house but never saw a bird. I used to feed the birds but quit because I fed the small birds were feeding the neighborhood hawks.
