Blue-violet & Yellow Flowers 09-17-08

Isn't this clematis a wonderful color? Currently there is only this bloom.
The white stamens make a little blossom of their own.
And here is a closeup - the outer points are already starting to die.

For contrast here is a bright yellow Day Lily - the lilies are blooming heavily right now.

The flowers are just beautiful Del!

Meggie - They are my favorite color pairing. Blue and yellow are lovely, but blue-violet and yellow are enchanting. In my eye anyway.

The flowers are beautiful. Your photos are always wonderful Del. Thanks for brightening my morning. The Plumeria yesterday was very pretty as well. The leaves here are cascading down in buckets so seeing your lovely flowers is especially nice.

Thanks Dee. And here I am yearning for autumn to begin. I'll take that postponed trip up to the east slope of the Sierra soon - the aspen and rabbit bush should have turned everything a dozen shades of yellow. I envy your autumn leaves!

I love the close up of the clematis. So many things we look at from a distance not knowing there is a treat when you get close.
