TCQC - Kirsten Duncan

Here is another of the gift quilts from the Twelve by 12 group.  http://www.twelveby12.org/
Because TCQC sponsored their exhibits at the three Quilt Festivals they each made a quilt for me.  They are each individual and wonderful.  Most have been in an exhibit at Visions Art Museum in San Diego, but the exhibit ended today so they will be "home" again soon.   I have already posted six of the quilts and will post the others starting tonight with:

"Aussie Birds"  Kirsten Duncan - Australia 2011  12" X 12"

I believe that Kirsten's stylized birds are varigated wrens, a common bird native to the Australian scrublands.  The leaves are especially nice with their different prints and aqua accents.

I believe the backing fabric is an aboriginal design.

A nice hand written label - but no contact information.  That is a really important part of a label.

This is quite charming (even with the birds - LOL).
