Maybe a break from blogging 11-23-09

I had an e-mail this evening from one of my cousins telling me that my Aunt Dorothy is in hospice care and has been given a month or so to live. If I can possibly arrange it I will go up to Portland, OR., to see her sometime in the next few weeks. I will have to figure out how to make the trip - not sure I am up to the thousand mile drive. I'll keep you advised. Del

Take care Del! Can you fly?

I hope I can see you when you are here, though I know this will not be a "social" trip. If you end up flying I would be happy to pick you up at the airport or help with transportation as needed. Let me know...

I hope you are able to make your way up to Portland to see your aunt. Where there's a will, there's a way...

I'm thinking of you and hoping you make your trip safely which ever way you go.
Thanksgiving blessings and peace to your Aunt Dorothy.

Sad news. I do hope you can find a way. It is nice that Terry offered to help with transportation.

Like, Terry, I would love to see you. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Thinking of you and sending you best wishes.

Take care, Del, and if you drive, drive safely. I'm sorry we won't be in Portland to help, perhaps, bring you some comfort. But Terry and Gerrie are good helpers -- call on them. Maybe you should take the train instead of trying to drive -- it's almost as fast because it goes through the night while you sleep. Get a sleeping cabin and let Amtrak take you there.

Oh, you don't need any advice. I just want to say that we'll be thinking of you.

Del, you - and your family - will be in my prayers. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Get on a plane if you can, Del. Or a train! A thousand mile drive does not sound like fun.

Please take care of yourself and have a good Thanksgiving.

Cousin Del:
I can not believe it has been nearly two years since we lost mom ( Aunt Dorothy). I miss her so. Yet God works
In strange ways...after a life of watching Dorothy
sew, quilt and create, I began to sew for the first time.
It strangely seems so natural for me. I have such vivid memories of watchin mom and our grandmother Marie
hand quilting in Portland.
I am sure mom is with us and watching each stitch
we make. Love --Annie,Dorothy's daughter.
