Last year at this time I didn't know the name of this plant - it is the Orchid Trumpet Vine, originally from Argentina. Now I see it everywhere. It has completely covered a long cyclone fence between the street I take to the freeway and a large irrigation pond. Right now it is solid with violet blossoms. Very pretty.
It does come in different colors, but this is my favorite. It has no fragrance.
