Revisiting post from the past 01-09-17
Although I have added several new quilts to the Collection I have yet to photograph any of the quilts. So, here is a repeat of an earlier post.
12-08-13 How many times have you heard me say I don't buy quilts that need to be boxed separately - that cannot be rolled? Well, sometimes I do. I have another piece by Susan Else which resides in a dedicated box when not on the wall. Sometimes I can't resist something that "speaks" to me.

"Cold Day" 2011 Susan Else - Santa Cruz, CA Displayed in an 8"sq. Lucite box.
This came from SAQA in the Lucite box - very cleverly held upright by tiny holes in the bottom through which stitches are taken into the lady's posterior. I will keep her in the box, somehow it seems appropriate.
There are four views here, one into each side of the box.
Susan is very good at getting realistic body language into her work. Love the hair.

Shopping for KoKo 01-08-17
I am feeling much better and might even say I am well! I was out and about today - coffee with Liz, gas station, Trader Joe's, PetSmart and home. And I wasn't exhausted when I came home.
My final stop was at PetSmart for some KoKo treats and a new toy for him. I was looking for something about the size of Froggie, with lots of appendages and a squeaker. I found a little puppy, who is a fourth the size and very light weight, so it doesn't throw very far. It's two ears are about the same size as the legs, so it has seven good things for KoKo to hold on to. KoKo has been working the squeaker all day. He delights in squeakers. So, I was successful. I am not accustomed to shopping for others!

Rain - But the drought is not over
We are getting wonderful rain, perhaps too much in some spots. Most people I know are enjoying the rain and slowing down when they are driving. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents because the oil has had a chance to build up on the pavement for years. When it rains it is as slick as ice in some spots. And then there are the weeds. Like magic they come up in the bare ground where nothing has grown for four years. I also have a highway of mushrooms across my barren backyard. KoKo hasn't gotten used to the rain. When he goes out he will stop and look up at the sky with a sort of frown. When he has done his business he runs back to the house to shake off all those nasty raindrops. We have been fortunate that it has not usually been raining at our walking times, I still don't have a jacket and wear my layers to keep warm. But they won't keep me dry, that requires an umbrella.

All is well - don't worry! 01-06-17
Goshl I didn't realize it has been so many days since I have blogged - sorry about that. The main problem is that since I have been homebound I don't have much to say. Complaining about being sick doesn't cut it and there is just so much that can be said about the KoKo dog. I am MUCH better and trying to get my strength back from not doing much for two months. KoKo and I do manage to walk for 20 minutes morning and evening - he drags me around and I wait for him to do his business.
It is interesting to read about others Christmas and New Year's, but I am happy to just stay home and pretend they are just everyday days! Guess I am odd that way. It would be different if I had family, but I don't and there is nothing to be done about that.
I am in a quandary with Google about posting pictures. They don't seem to want me to do it, but I keep trying. Maybe by Sunday it will be okay.

Illness still dragging on 12-27-16
I'm hoping this is not going to be another of those years when I am sick all winter. I feel better, but am still coughing and still no energy. KoKo and I go for a walk every morning and most afternoon/evenings. But sometimes the evening jaunt is too much for me. I still don't have a good jacket so I am still layering, which works pretty well except when the wind is blowing as it has been this week. I'm going to check on some online companies, though having to return things that don't fit is on the bottom of my list of favorite things to do. I don't want to go out into the crowds at the mall or even the big box stores because my resistance to germs might be too low to protect me. It's miserable to have to consider every breath, isn't it?
We have had warmer weather in the 60s the last week and promises that will continue though it will rain on Thursday.
Thanks to all who have made comments or sent e-mails. Being confined at home can get pretty lonely, though I do check on Facebook every day to see what everyone else it doing. I enjoyed Teresa's annual cookie delivery, she is such a good baker and friend.

It was a very quiet day here in Placentia, CA. The temperature was cold (for this area) at 41 this morning at 8am. KoKo and I walked despite the cold - he doesn't seem to mind at all.
Good friend Liz Williams brought Christmas dinner and I enjoyed every bite. What a friend!
Since I gave up celebrating Christmas I have at least put a wreath on the front door - if only for the enjoyment of the mail carrier. But this year I just wasn't up to doing much of anything, so this wreath is from a previous year. I am feeling much better today and hope I will be back to my busy schedule soon. With more interesting blog posts.
