Friday Feet 07-26-13

It seems my attention is drawn to shoes with bright laces.  They have been around for a long time, but somehow I notice them more these days.  I also notice women in very high heels and hope that as they "mature" they don't discover that they have ruined their feet.  They might end up with "old lady" shoes in order to just keep walking upright!  Although I don't regret the heels so much as the extremely pointed toes.  Ouch.

An ageing Poodle Prince 07-23-13

Corky, the Poodle Prince, will turn 17 next Monday.   He is deaf and is losing his sight, he is mostly far sighted now.  He has a quarter of a pain pill midday to easy the arthritis and a number of regular meds morning and evening.  He seems to me to be thinner and he is definitely more fragile.  We make a fine pair - my hearing is fine, but I have everything else he has.  I hope to have new glasses sometime this week.

We spent some time together on Sunday and four hours this afternoon/evening, both times at his house.

He had to make do for a couple hours while I washed the covers to his beds.
But he still had his tan pillow and the floppy lamb he seems to enjoy cuddling with.

Today he stretched out on the sofa in the family room - sleeping with one eye partially open.

I still love his tidy little feet.  However, he struggles with me when I want to brush his legs - I suppose it is the arthritis pain.   Tomorrow he has a regular date with the groomer.  And I have a med check with my doctor.

Monday Browsing 07-22-13

I have spent much more time online this past week so I have a long list of sites you might find of interest.  You may have noticed that I am combining Monday Browsing with the photos of portals I have taken over the years.  There is no connection between the two, I just pick a portal image at random.

Take a tour of Spoonflower – courtesy of Etsy:

Oh, my goodness, this is amazing.  Of course, I couldn’t do this at 20, much less 75!

And isn’t the revolving nature of the stars wonderful.

Interesting exhibit with work combining fiber and metal.
