Here is
something to do with the long skinny scraps from trimming our quilts. I have been trying it in the hope that it
will help exercise my arthritic hands. I
think Ami Sims is going to cover this in her monthly newsletter: http://mypoppet.com.au/2014/04/scrapbusting-handmade-scrap-fabric-twine.html

Martha Wolfe quilt added to TCQC 11-23-14
Here is another 12"x12" quilt from the SAQA 2014 online auction. Another bird image in the growing collection.
"Skimmers" 2014 Martha Wolfe - Davis, CA 12"x12"
Layered, painted silk organza background, and hand-dyed silk charmeuse, raw-edge appliqued with machine quilting.
Martha seems to have extreme control when following the edge of her raw edge applique.
Skimmers' bottom beaks are longer than their top beaks. They fly closely over the ocean and drag their bottom beak in the water to scoop up small fish.
Back of quilt showing the sleeve and the very large, decorative label.
Here is the label - including a contact.
