A Correction and fabric from Back Porch Fabrics. 10-28-16

A CORRECTION:  I used the wrong name for the wonderful appliqued India tree I post on 10-09-16.  The artist's name is Caroline Higgs, not Riggs, and her website is https://carolinehiggs.me/   I believe she lives in England.

While I was in SJBautista I drove over to Pacific Grove for a fabric fix at Back Porch Fabrics, which is the best fabric shop I have ever been in.  Owner Gail Abeloe has an eye for fabrics and she keeps them moving with a stunnding discount table.  If you are anywhere near, do stop by and see what is on offer.  She also has a great selection of books, worth a look.

I bought fabrics for myself and to send to a friend who lives in a remote area.

A selection of six fabrics, including one light.  Ruth McDowell always says to buy at least one light!  I suppose the white with brown flowers could pass as a light also.  The seagulls are definitely for me - for that someday bird quilt.  The black and white would make a good border for something.

This one is titled "If you like Pina Coladas" by Rosewood Organics exclusively for Frond Design Studios.   Half of the length is the palm fronds and the other half the ocean.  So, I turned back the gold corner to show both sides.

This is from Cosmo Textile Co, Japan  www.cosmo-tex.co.jp  When I first looked at it I didn't see the animals.  There is a mouse on the bottom, a bird at upper left and a fox next to the bird.  Also bunnies and what I think is a  horse and maybe a fish.  A really interesting print.

This one was on the sale table.  Called "Cachet" and designed for Benartex.  www.benartex.com   I like those flower centers.

Do I NEED more fabric?  NO.  I have another lifetime worth, but I am weak and cannot resist.

KoKo at home

I took KoKo with me to visit Mary and Joe, but he and Grace, the black lab, did not like each other at all. But now that we are back home I think he misses having so many people around to pet him and throw Froggie so he can chase him.

Well, Blogger won't let me post any pictures.  I'll try again tomorrow.  Sorry. Del

Thursday - Hurrah!  Pictures today.

Froggie and KoKo.  Notice that KoKo's rump is turning grey - can't be old age he is only 2-1/2 years old.

Poor Froggie got closed into the recliner - but he survived!

Returned from trip, still having computer problem. 10-24-16

I drove up to San Juan Bautista to see my friends Mary and Joe.  The weather was perfect - blue skies, temps in mid-70s, slight breeze.  Wonderful.  When I returned today thunder rumbled in Placentia and soon we had some rain.  Welcome rain and supposedly there will be more this week.  I took KoKo with me in the hope that he and Grace, Mary''s black lab, would be friends, but no luck - they were ready to tear each other apart.  So, Gracie was relegated to the deck and backyard, while KoKo stayed in the house and took his walk in the front of the house.  He loved all the action with different people coming and going; petting and playing with him most of the day.  He has been asleep almost every minute since we returned to Placentia about 3pm today.

I'll work hard to get the computer up and running correctly.  Meanwhile I will try to finish the Surfside QGuild newsletter and get it posted by the end of the week.  Not sure how, but I will get it done.

I did visit Back Porch in Pacific Grove and supported the economy!  Bought some fabrics for Ruth McDowell who misses her annual pilgrimage to Asilomar and Back Porch.  Hard to choose fabric for her, but I think there are some keepers in the bag.

Depending on the computer I will start to post daily again.  Love, Del
