Friday Feet 05-12-17

For sixteen years,  until he died in November 2013, I was a Poodle Nanny to Corky, the Poodle Prince.  He had the sweetest little feet and I posted them on my Friday Feet blog more than once.

From Feb 2011
Here are the cutest feet I know of!

I have always loved Corky's little feet - so neat and tidy.

And here are all four sweet feet.

Name that flowering tree? 05-11-17

I took these pictures the first week in June 2012 in Kalispell, Montana.  There were many in bloom all over town and I have never been able to identify them.  Any ideas?

Driving to San Diego in the rain 05-08-17

Yesterday I drove to San Diego again to see a presentation at Visions Art Museum and have lunch with friends (at Stone Brewery).  It rained a bit going down and I stopped to leave KoKo with Nancy Ota for the day.   When it was time to drive home it was pouring in SDiego and continued to rain as I drove north, extending the trip to more like three and a half hours rather than two.  Of course, Sunday going north is always heavy traffic, but the rain slowed everyone down to a crawl for much of the drive.   It was nice to have KoKo's company for the drive from Nancy's in San Clemente to our house, he wants to lay right up against my side, except when he decides he needs to drive.  When we are going at a normal freeway speed I insist he stay in his carrier, but when the traffic is mostly moving at 20mph or stop and go, I just fasten him up with his harness, leash, and seatbelt.

Jacaranda Tree Ruth McDowell 05-07-17

The Jacaranda trees are starting to bloom - seems a little early, usually they bloom in early June.  Guess it is the climate change.   I have posted Ruth McDowell's "Jacaranda Tree" quilt several times before.  Read the post at

"Jacaranda Tree" Ruth B. McDowell 1996  45"W x 39"L
Ruth's color is a little more violet than blue because this was before digital and the pictures she took with her 35mm film camera would come out with more red tones than blue.
The pictures below were taken with my digital camera over the past few years.
