Hope to be blogging regularly now. 04-22-14
I am still working on setting up my laptop the way it was before. I don't think it is possible, but I will keep trying. Carbonite is still updating my files and I hope this process is completed soon since I will be going to the final week of Empty Spool classes at Asilomar. My class is with Hilde Morin, who I hear is an excellent teacher. I have selected mostly Marcia Derse fabrics for my palette and hope I can make them work in Hilde's style. Of course, there is the Cotton Patch shop in Merrill Hall and Back Porch Fabrics in Pacific Grove - only a short drive away. Nothing like being forced to go fabric shopping.
I hope you will check in on this blog while I try to set things up the way I want them and to catch up on my life.
Trader Joe's calls this "Sun Star" (Ornithogalum dubium). It has a rather interesting flower and I love the color.

It arrived TODAY! 04-15-14
Yes, the new laptop (Del's Dell #4)was delivered today. Tomorrow I will start the process of setting it up and then the restore from Carbonite. What would I do without them? It is worth the cost to have my files safe and retrievable. Check them out - tell them Colleen Thomas sent you!
I hope that I will soon be back to my regular blogging schedule - with pictures! Love, Del

Help a quilting friend
There is a crowd funding site to help Mary Lou Weidman and her husband Mark with his medical expenses. He has a terminal brain tumor and not much time left. Every donation helps. http://www.gofundme.com/7z9m5o

Friday Facilities 04-11-14
A few years ago I visited friends in Washington State and was treated to a visit to one of the islands in Puget Sound where one friend has a vacation home. It was like something from a dream with the blue water, blue sky, and a gleaming white Mount Baker lording over the dark green forests on the mainland in the distance. A gorgeous and gracious few days. The hostess has an eye for decoration and gardening - very casual, but warm and welcoming. The "facilities" are no exception.
Simple, but not austere. I had to peek in the master bath and discovered another wonderful basin - like looking at the bottom of the sea. Even the switch plates added a beachy feel. |
A perfect beach house basin - I love the mermaids on the side. |

Monday Browsing .... on Thursday! 04-10-14
I hope that my laptop will let me post tonight. This is actually two weeks of browsing since I have not been able to post it for at least that long. Sorry I can't make the URLs show as links. I should have a new computer within the next few weeks.
