Turning Leaves Sep 28, 2007
I took this picture of a redbud tree last year about this time. I was visiting my friend Mary in San Jaun Bautista - several hundred miles north, so the seasons are ahead of Placentia.
I just got back from a walk to Laurelhurst Park and saw leaves turning here and there. I love the turning of the leaves here in Portland because they do so somewhat individually and over time -- you can appreciate the tree up the block and then next week the one down the street, and then the week after, a maple in a friend's front yard.
Today it's the ashes that are blazing in glory, along with some red riffs on younger maples.
