Every year when I go up to see my friends Mary and Joe in San Juan Bautista I take a picture of this Lombardy Poplar towering over the surrounding trees. This year it was gone.

Hummm? I wonder if it was impacting those power/phone lines I see...? Too bad, as it was a NICE tree!
Poplars are notoriously short-lived and somewhat frail trees. They do spread via their roots, though, and so in a few years, Del, another will take its place.
