During the same time period that the TCQC quilts were at Visions Art Museum there were two other exhibits showing. One was the Vision Member's Challenge with the subject of birds and the other was.......
..... with quilts from Charlotte Bird and Cathy Denton. They had challenged each other - see the placard above. Here are two of my favorites, but I didn't buy either of them.

This is Cathy Denton's "Calliope" done with thickened Procion dye on silk fabric.
Machine quilted.
And Charlotte Bird's "Calliope" done with ink jet printing, hand cut fused applique, machine pieced and quilted.
I also liked "Cayuse". Cathy" is silk fabric hand painted with thickened Procion dye. machine quilting.
Charlotte Bird's "Cayuse" is deconstructed silk screen, hand cut fused applique, machine sewn and quilted, hand embroidery.
It is a fascinating juxtaposition of two artists with different techniques and life experience.
