A recovery day and a solicitation 07-30-15

I drove to San Diego on Tuesday afternoon - weather clear, traffic moderate - it was quite a pleasant drive.  I had dinner with a friend  - eating a really wicked hamburger at a little "hole in the wall"  place she knows about.   Beside the  hamburger patty there were sautéed mushroom, bacon, glazed onions, lettuce, tomato, some kind of sauce.   I  ate every bite along with the sweet potato fries which were hot, crunchy on the outside and soft/fluffy on the inside.  A meal to remember. 

The point of the trip was a Membership Committee meeting at Visions on Wednesday morning.  We need to attract more members to support the Museum and I volunteered to be on the telephone committee.  So, if you get a phone call from me, or one of the other two callers, be prepared to hear us praise the Museum and ask you to consider being a member.

Annual membership for an individual is $50. For another $20 you can be an Artist member which waives the entry fee for all Visions juried exhibitions.  You can link your contact on our website and submit work to the online exhibitions.  You also receive a 10% discount at the gift shop.  There are other classifications of membership - $60 for Dual membership which is 2 people living at the same address, or $75 for Family membership (living at the same address), Supporter or Business for $100, Bronze membership is $250, Silver for $500 and Gold for $1000.  The last three also receive NARM benefits which include admission to over 650 museums throughout the USA, Canada and Mexico. 

There are a total of 20 exhibits a year, including the online gallery.    It is a great place to have your work displayed and a great place to see what is going on in the contemporary quilt art world.  It is the only USA museum that shows only contemporary or "art quilts".
