Side trip to Point Loma 05-26-16

When Nancy and I went to San Diego to see the presentation on Japanese Textiles last Sunday, we arrived a bit early so we drove out to Point Loma because we had never been there.  There is an extensive military cemetery on the way out to the Cabrillo Monument and beyond is the harbor and the towers of downtown San Diego.  When we got to the gate for the Point we were about 20 cars back and the line was not moving.  We had to turn around and head back to Liberty Station (where Visions Art Museum is located) or we would be late for the program.  We stopped for a few minutes along the way to take pictures.  My were terrible so all these were taken by Nancy with her phone.  It's worth the drive just for the view.  Next time I'll go during the week and maybe there won't be so much traffic.

I think I once read the claim that Cabrillo is the most visited national monument. Sounds like your experience would go along with that.
